Who is the Halloween Ghost?
Who is the Halloween Ghost? He comes to our house each year. Our two boys have serious food allergies, and we have to be very careful. Before we go trick-or-treating with our boys, we load them up with SAFE CANDY. Since they are unable to eat candy with gluten, dairy, or nuts... having their sweet tooth satisfied is important before getting a bag full of candy that is unsafe. We also bring the epi-pen and our cell phones with us at all times. I prefer that my kids eat Organic, allergy-freindy, dye-free candies. When we get back from trick-or-treating, they leave their bags in the living room for the Halloween Ghost. This ghost has NO teeth, and comes in the middle of the night, to take the "bad candy" and he leaves a gift. The size of the gift depends on how much candy is left. They also collect candy throughout the year to give it to the ghost. Our boys get excited for the ghost to come, and they have no problems giving up their bad candy for a gift. Trust me, once you start this tradition, they will be hooked. When my kids mention this to friends, their friends say "I wish the Halloween Ghost came to our house." This is something that even non-allergic kids can enjoy.
